Young Marrieds At Play

Written by Jerome Kass

Story: Joe and Adam met by chance and decide to get together with their wives for a social evening of dinner, drinks, and a game of Monopoly. As the evening progresses the antagonisms, near-hatreds, and physical violence of the couples surge forward to a armed truce but with a troubled and uncertain future.

The Readers Theatre Workshop Project of the
American Readers Theatre

The Readers Theatre Workshop extends the mission statement of ART and literacy by using dramatic readings as a catalyst for “town- hall open discussions” of social issues. Past readings have dealt with alcoholism (Days of Wine and Roses), teenage pregnancy (Lovers), and physical and emotional abuse in relationships (Young Marrieds At Play.)
